Guitar Music - How to Buy a Great Guitar

For most guitar beginners it is a difficult and frustrating task to buy a guitar. Having too many guitar products in the market, they do not know how to make the right decision. I would say there are three stages to buy a guitar. A great guitar is helpful for you to produce great guitar music.
Before Going Out...
You need to prepare a few things first. You should decide which style of music you want to play. If you want to play rock or heavy metal music, you may buy an electric guitar. If you are interested in classical or country music, an acoustic guitar is better for you.
After deciding the type of guitar, read newspapers and surf the Internet to search for guitar brands, reviews by other users and guitar stores. You would compare the prices and check which store is offering you more benefits.
If you are not confident of buying the guitar alone, just ask someone who is good at playing guitar or your guitar teacher to go with you. They can give you valuable advice and help you make the right choice.
Before walking out of your home, you should be clear that it is not a must to buy a guitar within one day. You would pay the money only if you find the guitar that suits you most.
Choosing the Guitar...
When you have found a guitar that attracts you the most at the guitar store, it is time to test it. The body of the guitar needs not to be too big or too small. If you feel comfortable with holding it, then it is okay.
Do not be shy even if you are a beginner. The best way to try the tonal qualities of a guitar is to play it as loud as possible. Use your pick to play on every string and fret to check if there is any buzz.
If you are choosing an electric guitar, you must try the guitar with an amp plugged in and try different combinations of the pick-ups.
You need not play a great song at the store. Just play whatever you are comfortable with and listen to the sound carefully. Feel free to strum even though it is a beginner guitar chord.
You may try out every guitar in different guitar stores. You need to be patient. Your goal is to buy the best guitar. Remember you are the one who pays the money, you have all control.
Paying for the Guitar...
There is another challenge once you choose the right guitar. You need to negotiate with the salesperson for a lower price. You normally do not have to pay the price written on the product tag.
Although you have chosen a particular guitar, you may also try out the others, especially the cheaper ones. As salespeople want to earn more commission, they would probably give you a discount for the more expensive one that you have targeted before. If you know there is another store selling the same model of guitar at a lower price, tell them as well.
A guitar case is useful to protect your guitar so you may also consider buying one.
Finally at the cashier, you may ask the salesperson if it is possible to get some guitar accessories with discount or even for free. All accessories like guitar strings, a guitar capo, a guitar tuner and guitar picks are your target. I can not guarantee that you can get them but you may want to have a try.
I think this advice is helpful to you. Hope you can buy your new guitar within a week.
